Senegal​

Located at the westernmost point of the continent, three important rivers converge through its territory- to the north the Senegal River that separates the country from Mauritania- to the south the Gambia and Casamance rivers. 

Giving free rein to our senses, what better than strolling through the Kermel Market in Dakar where products are exhibited in multicolored stalls. 

Take a walk to the twin hills of the Mamelles.  When visibility allows it the Island of Cabo Verde can be seen. In one of these hills of volcanic origin is located the Lighthouse, built in 1864. On the other one stands the imposing statue of Liberty. 

Who has not heard about the pink lake ?

You can sail to Goré Island, a painful memory of slaves condemmed to human trade. 

Get in touch with the surprising Diola people in the south, guardians of the sacred forest.

Other cities like Saint Louis- Ziguinchor and Casamance have in common their colonial past. -The city of Touba- epicenter of the Mouride Sufi, is another worthwhile visit -Kedougo, fishing town  and the Niokobo Kona National Park where the Gambia River channel favors the diversity of wildlife- hippos, lions, elephants and leopards roam freely.
